The Food Hygiene Rating is a nationwide initiative released by the Food Standards Agency to test and rate hygiene in all food establishments in the UK.

A clear and clean rating device, the sticker features a ‘button’ scaling device which is used to show that higher or lower ratings can be achieved, due to regular inspections. Other design elements include a certificate, Welsh logo, bilingual logo and certificate.

Although not compulsory to promote, the initiative is currently being signed off with most Local Authorities across the country. We hope by the end of 2012, we will be able to view hygiene ratings on all food establishments. Watch out for it on the windows of your local restaurants!
